Project Whore

So there’s so many more facets to me, and I’ve decided I’m going to continue to explore them.

Zebrana Bastard (Eclectic Blues) – My heart, my soul, my everything. No longer on the back burner…this is my touring project…my purge…I’m not hiding behind a bass anymore, instead it’s helping me to stand strong and push forward.

Bastard Child (Punk/Metal/Comedy) – Most who know me are familiar with my old band, which recently got back together. We’ll be playing our first show as being officially back together at the New Frontier Lounge on Friday, February 15th, in honor of Honkey Bastard’s(our drummer) birth. Really, I just wanted to be able to play with a full band again when I wasn’t on the road, and the guys were down.

Experimental (Industrial/Noise/?) – I’ve always loved industrial and noise, there’s something about the rawness of emotion that comes out. I don’t know what the title for this project will be yet, but I’m happy to be doing it with my long time friend, Ian Black. We first bonded over a love for varying styles of music, and have always been fans of each others projects. We had a chance to jam together last summer for a little bit on a day off before starting the tour with the Mentors. He had an awesome industrial project called Nilshiphter for years, and now plays bass for another Sacramento band called (waning). With this project, I’m going to record my voice with a mic plugged into my computer, and then send the recordings to him to do whatever he wants with. I think this should make for a very interesting collaboration. He’s a married, full time daddy, and lives in Sacramento, so I don’t think it will be a project that will ever tour, but it’s cool, because there was no intention of making it a touring project.

Collaboration (Blues/Jazzy/Roots) – While Jeff aka One Man Train Wreck, and I are touring together as separate acts this Spring, our goal is to collaborate and write an album together. We started practicing one of his old songs when we last hung out together, and I’ve already started compiling a couple more song ideas for the album. I think it will be fun to write songs about our travels together while they’re taking place this Spring. I’m excited. 🙂 I’m hoping we will be able to record the album within the 4 days of returning from tour before I leave for Europe in June, when the music is at it’s strongest.

Collaboration (7″ Punk Split) – I threw the idea out to my buddy Brad aka Evil Tedd a while ago about doing a split together. He’s been super busy singing for his awesome punk band 13 Scars, painting, and murdering women for money on the side. I’ve been super busy with my multitude of things that I do…so needless to say, it’s been slow going…but he’s working on a new solo album on his free time, and I’m always writing new shit (already got 4 songs towards my 3rd album)…and every once in awhile, we mention this split. It’ll happen, the timing just hasn’t lined up yet…but it’s there.

Shawn told me a few months back that I’m at the perfect age, the right place, and the right mentality to go where ever I want and do as much as I can…so run with it. That’s exactly what I’m doing and I’m far from done.
