Fuckin’ Weird

Uncategorized | December 7th, 2012

Intimacy is fuckin’ weird. Not bad, just weird. Caring is weird too, and so are relationships. Everything you do affects other people, but when you give a shit how your actions will effect others, it adds a whole new dynamic to the picture. At which point is it okay to just throw all your eggs in one basket, and say, “okay, we’re going to do this no matter the outcome, and when the seas get rough, we’ll work together through it until the calm of the storm?” Some people do that every time they enter into a relationship, they just… Continue Reading →

Tear Drops in Motion

Uncategorized | December 5th, 2012

So last night, Todd and I got together and brainstormed plans for the Tear Drop trailer we’ll be building. For those of you who do not know what a teardrop trailer is, here ya go… The open hatch you see on the back is the kitchen area, while the rest of it is sleeping/living quarters. Mine will not be nearly as shiny or elaborate as the two posted here, as I’m a very bare bones and practical person when it comes to traveling.  Due to the size of me and my touring companion, we’re going to need as much leg… Continue Reading →

Customize Everything

So I’ve been thinking a lot about a million things here lately as I’m preparing for the tour in April. Due to my limited funds, it’s forcing me to be a bit more creative with my options. Instead of looking at being broke as a bad thing, I’m taking it on as a challenge of what I can come up with that suits me as far as merch goes. My project is unique. My voice is weird in that I don’t really sound like anybody, and I play solo with an acoustic bass. I also live inside my own reality,… Continue Reading →

Go big, or go home.

So I’ve been taking in a lot of Seth Godin for the last year. He’s a marketing guru a good friend turned me on to about a year ago. Some of his knowledge doesn’t really apply to my life, but a lot of it does. His general outlook on life is awesome. A reoccurring theme in his blogs that I subscribe to are that it’s okay to fail…not only is it okay, it’s necessary in order to learn from your mistakes, grow, and become amazing. I’ve been taking this to heart a lot more these days, and embracing the odds… Continue Reading →

Runnin’ ‘Til Buskin’ Tour

Uncategorized | November 30th, 2012

My buddy Jeff and I are going on tour together for the months of April and May. I’m doing Zebrana Bastard, and he’s rocking his One Man Train Wreck project. We’ll also be doing a couple songs together like this one here… We’ll be traveling as two separate acts all over the US, but also working on an album together that we hope to record when we get back. Dates are being added as they come in, so just because you don’t see your town doesn’t mean we can’t make it happen. If you know of a club, good place… Continue Reading →

Slow, but steady…

Uncategorized | November 29th, 2012

Something else I often forget…opportunities are everywhere all the time. It’s important to keep moving, and not to focus on that one opportunity you are hoping for…just keep moving, keep working today like you never did anything yesterday and things will happen in there own time and in their own way. 2 rules of the road: Never get excited until the moment it happens and never ask for anything. I really, really miss the day we ran through that rain and lightening storm and every moment that a mission was being carried out. That rush of adrenaline that left you… Continue Reading →

$250 to Vegas…

Uncategorized | November 28th, 2012

…and that’s one way. Not really that bad when you look at it that way. Maybe I will leave in January. I’m a very, very, very, very impatient person. I like immediate gratification, which makes it hard sometimes. Makes it hard a lot of times, but I calm down. If you’re not used to me, it can be very off-putting. I’m good like that I guess, but eh…we all have our flaws. I had 2 days with not much of anything going on, and it put me in this stupid funk where I felt like it was the end of… Continue Reading →

Recording Soon!

Uncategorized | November 7th, 2012

I am super, super, super excited. I record in a week and a half! Oh shit…I record in a week and a half…ha ha ha…I’ve got work to do. Seriously though, I am super excited to be doing this…just me, solo, in the studio. I’m excited to hurry up and get this album done, so I can begin recording my next album….and then there’s tour. Touring, touring, touring. Going on tour in April with One Man Train Wreck. I’ve been trying not to stress money. The button orders haven’t been coming in as quickly as I’d hoped, but I’m reaching… Continue Reading →

Comforts of Home

Uncategorized | October 29th, 2012

I’m really starting to enjoy being home again. And by home, I mean hanging out with Baker. It’s been really nice. Going out Saturday night with Dan is something the two of us haven’t done together in a long time, and running into so many friends we used to see all the time back when we first got together was very nostalgic. I’ve had a hard time adjusting to the balance of home life vs. life on the road, but it’s finally been coming together a lot more this last year. Dan is so rad, and so fun to hang… Continue Reading →
