Strength in Tires

Uncategorized | May 6th, 2013

I believe strength is determined by follow through, will, and resourcefulness…it’s what you are able to do with the tools you have, no matter how slim the outlook may be. I live a very charmed life. My entire life, people have told me that I can’t go around just doing whatever the hell I want to do, and my reply is a smile combined with the thought of “just watch me.” I continually follow my heart, lead by my gut, and sometimes the brain kicks in some worthwhile ideas for good measure…but the company you keep says a lot about… Continue Reading →

Formalities Aside

I can be your perfect anything Until it comes time to leave It’s the leaving part that’s hard for you to take… But in the lifetimes I’m gone You can create me to be whatever you want me to be Need me to be I’m only there a short while Dream girl Reliable one Beautiful one A tight pussy that soothes your pains To me it’s all the same A moment of peace for a lonely soul I just want a safe place to get off Does the damage ever take it’s toll? I’m invisible…poof, I’m gone And I love… Continue Reading →

The Dancer

I’ve completely fallen in love with this song, woke up with it stuck in my head this morning…and by morning I mean when I last woke up. There’s so much depth and beauty in PJ Harvey’s voice. So grateful for all the cds I got from everyone on my birthday…they are not going to waste. I’ve discovered a bunch of new music…like Arctic Flowers…holy shit, that band rocks! But yeah, really loving this song right now. Last night, we played at ABG’s in Provo, UT. We kinda got added to the show by pure chance and sorta last minute. Dane,… Continue Reading →

Tommorrow, Twine Ball!

Uncategorized | May 1st, 2013

I know things have been quiet, it’s been hard to find decent internet out here on the road, but yesterday, I spent about 2 hours of my day dedicated to rectifying that issue. Sprint replaced my faulty internet stick, and also took the time to ensure I had everything set up on my computer to make it work. Yeah for internet! We’ve spent the last few days hanging out at my friend, Tyler’s house in Kansas City, MO. It’s not too bad. Tyler moved away from Tacoma about 4 years ago, and it’s good to see him again. He’s got… Continue Reading →

This is now.

Life is made up of choices, with an adventure around every corner if you’re willing to seek it out. I am in love with life. An experience junkie, if you will. There is so much out there to take hold of and enjoy. I feel privileged to have the touring companions that I do, even in the moments when friction occurs due to varied personalities. It’s all part of it. The ups and downs are the roller coaster of life, and if you manage to stay on track through all the dips and curves of the ride, you should walk… Continue Reading →

Fresno

Today is a day off, and I find myself in Fresno, CA. Just woke up on the bedroom floor at my best friend’s place. Tika is my bookkeeper, so it’s not really a day off at all. Soon as she wakes up, we both will be inundated with receipts and number crunching as we get everything on the finances side of things set up for the business. Got a fun-filled day ahead of us! Played an awesome show last night at the Midtown Village Café in Sacramento that my friend, Jim, from the band Waning helped to set up. Spent… Continue Reading →

Tension & Comfort

Uncategorized | April 15th, 2013

When you take people out of their comfort zones and throw them into the wilds of adventure, tension is going to rise. Constant exposure to new situations is the only way to get over fear of the unknown. So far, nothing has happened that I can’t handle…but whenever shit gets rough, I always think about life on tour with The Mentors last June. Taking the stigma out of the equation for being a woman on tour with The Mentors entirely and just focusing on my work load and lack of sleep; I was managing a tour with 3 full bands,… Continue Reading →

Lander

Heading out Southwest on highway 28 towards the 80 ain’t a bad way to start out a Friday morning. Hank III is pumping out of the speakers, and Jeff is in the driver’s seat. Pam’s got her nose in a book, and I’m enjoying being the passenger. Gives me a chance to catch up on some reading and organize my thoughts. I’ve been reading this book that I highly recommend, “George The Painter – A Bathroom Reader 2006-2010”. It’s a collection of his articles that have been published in The Horse. A biker magazine made for folks who ride their… Continue Reading →

It’s been an interesting last few days. Last night, we played a club in Bend called the Horned Hand. The club was fucking awesome! Very comfortable, cozy, and fun medium sized club. Unfortunately it won’t be around in another couple of months, so if you have a chance to play there, do it. Even if it’s on a Tuesday night and your only audience is mostly your tour mates and Jasper. Jasper was the sound man/door guy/bartender. We have about $160 or so left in our gas fund, and our next show is in Lander, WY. It’s about a 14… Continue Reading →

Sleep will come when I’m ready…

Uncategorized | April 7th, 2013

Told Pammy she’s driving tomorrow, so I’m catching up on videos while everyone is sleeping. Still too excited to sleep anyway…the adrenaline has been pumping, and I can’t seem to wipe this grin off my face…I’ve noticed my attitude is slowly becoming infectious…hoping by the end of next week, my two road buddies can shake the shit that’s got a hold on them and fully embrace the heart of the moment. They seem like they want to. Jeff’s playing was like night and day between the show on the 5th and the show on the 6th and it’s cool watchin’… Continue Reading →
